Sabai Resort Pattaya
With Pattaya Amateur Golf Week just finished and hosting 68 players from around the world, using this hotel as the tournament hotel, I thought it would be time to have a look over this hotel and see why it attracts the golfers.
From the outside it has great access to the second road and public transport drives right by, plenty of parking for the locals as well. The foyer is quite large and the staff are friendly and eager to help you. The hotel has 8 different types of accommodation, standard rooms through to the Ruen Thai 2 bedroom villas. The Pattaya Amateur Week was promoting the Deluxe A, Ruen Thai Paradise and Sunset Villas rooms so these are the rooms I checked out.
The Deluxe A rooms were located on the right hand side of the complex and the rooms were quite large and had a stand up shower ( I don’t know why hotels insist on having a stand up shower in a bath tub ? if you want to attract the family market only put baths in 1/3 of the rooms.)
The Sunset Villa rooms are the most modern in the complex and the largest rooms. The floors are fully tiled and the bathrooms have both showers and bath. The rooms are located at the back of the resort and all face to the swimming pool.
The Ruen Thai Paradise rooms are in my view the best rooms in the hotel. Located in the middle of the resort there are 29 villas all facing the swimming pool and Jacuzzi. These facilities are only available to the persons staying in the Ruen Thai rooms. The rooms are around 40 sq meters and have a balcony so you can sit outside and take in the sunset or let the smokers sit outside in a relaxed area. All the rooms have internet access ( and its free, take a note hotels that charge for internet, your days of charging are numbered!!)
Breakfast was served from 6-10.30 each day and a great range of food is on display, with the egg station manned diligently each day by the same lady, you just need to show up and she remembers what you want and brings it to your table when its ready.
I see the Pattaya Amateur Golf Week is returning to this Hotel again in October so there is something good going on at this hotel.
